As part of Profarma sh.a—the only pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Albania—we cover a quarter of the local market and have exclusivity over 20% of Profarma's portfolio for doctors, pharmacists, and patients.
1992 – Today
Milestones that shaped Galaxy.
Ownership shifts, new investments, and an expanding remit in production, marketing, and distribution forged Galaxy’s national presence and deepened our synergy with Profarma.
Galaxy’s origin story begins with Prodentalfarma, a joint venture where Italian investors held 80% of the shares and the Albanian state enterprise retained 20%. The company set out to supply pharmaceutical, dental, veterinary, and cosmetic products locally and abroad.
New investment and management from Aldosch brought expanded production runs, wider therapeutic coverage, and momentum to modernize quality systems.
Dermapharma AG acquired the company, reintroducing it as Galaxy—an entity focused on promotion, medical and pharmaceutical marketing, plus wholesale trade of pharmaceutical, herbal, cosmetic, parapharmaceutical, veterinary, and medical device products.
Albanian family owners repurchased Galaxy, sharpening our mission around promoting and growing the Profarma brand nationwide.
Collaborations with leading European labs expanded the portfolio with new supplements and medical devices tailored to local needs.
We reinforced our marketing organization and national sales force while adding innovative products and derma-cosmetics to the catalog.
New offices, upgraded fleets, enhanced logistics resources, and fresh technology contracts ensure Galaxy can scale ahead of demand.
